ELTON LEONARD JR.
Elton Leonard started professionally creating art at the age of 19.
Mr. Leonard joined The American Broadcasting Company in 2006. As a graphic designer, Mr. Leonard developed and implemented marketing and branding strategies/programs globally. His role entailed designing and illustrating a broad range of design projects from modest one color to elaborate four color productions including print advertising, motion graphics, video maps, posters, flyers, catalogs, newsletters, brochures, labels, front of house, point of purchase and other related materials. Major accounts included Good Morning America, One Life to Live, and ABC Nightline.
Prior to his work at The American Broadcasting Company, Mr. Leonard was employed at Everlands, a property sharing company, and Special Edition Press, a multi-media company where he was responsible for design and layout of all print materials, developed materials for new business pitches, managed all media relations and advertising, and sales and marketing collateral development. In addition to Mr. Leonard’s work experience, he has completed numerous group exhibits for Sunday Tea Party, and New York City Transit.
In 2000, Mr. Leonard presented his first solo exhibit at the Brooklyn Moon Café, NY and continued to present at various functions throughout the United States. Functions included: Art Gallery for Kwanzaa in Soho NY (1995), The Fulton Art Fair (2000), Dance Africa (2001), the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum in Holly Springs, MS (2002), 3rdEye(sol)ation Gallery in Brooklyn, NY(2011-2012), the Crystal House in Brooklyn, NY (2013) and the SHNY Gallery located in the Lower East side, NY (February 2014).
In the summer of 2014, Elton Leonard participated in a Group Art show during the “Bushwick Open Studios” weekend of May 30 – June 1, 2014, at the Living Gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn. For Christmas 2014, Mr. Leonard’s work was on display in a Group Exhibition, entitled: “A Taste of Art & Jazz: Reception and Art Sale,” with the TWO Local 100 Union in Brooklyn, N.Y.; with Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams as one of the guests.
In 2015, Elton Leonard participated in a Group Art show during for Black History Month on February 24 at the Fortune Society, located in Harlem, N.Y.; honoring Senator Adriano Espailliat, Councilman Mark Levine & Assemblyman Denny Farrell.
Mr. Leonard holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN.
